At the age of nine, young Campbell Remess knew he wanted to do something kind for others. After giving out flowers on the street in his neighborhood one Christmas, he realized he could’ve gone to the local hospital.
Although his mother said they could not buy presents, as there were nine children in the family to take care of, Campbell decided to take it upon himself to make toys. Now, he’s made over 1,400 teddy bears for children dealing with cancer.
Steve Harvey, after receiving his very own bear, wanted to show Campbell his support with a few surprises, starting with a message from Olivia Newton-John, who received one of Campbell’s bears while going through her own treatment for cancer. Another surprise? Mood Fabrics donated a $5,000 gift card so that Campbell could make more bears!
Campbell also auctions off his teddy bears, using the money to send people going through cancer or who have gone through cancer on kindness cruises though Project 365, which Campbell set up himself.
